I fake it 'til I write it.
My personal branding began at age five, when I fused my parents’ Irish and Chinese surnames into “McChang.” Legally, I go by Chang, but the name—and the spirit—stuck.
My currency is concision, creativity, and cultural competence. I’ve taught English in Jiangsu, interviewed theatre trailblazers for American Theatre, and led PR and content strategy at agencies in Hong Kong and New York. Most recently, I was a manager at a boutique firm representing Levi’s.
Whether stitching together apparel descriptions or making rapid antigen tests sound (almost) sexy, I tailor every word to the audience at hand. As a former PR exec, I know how to build a strategy—and how to write without one.
